New Bike Shop Offering Rentals, Sales, and Service to Open in the Heart of Colonial Williamsburg

Bike the Burg, offering rentals for families and individuals since July of 2017, is now adding sales and service as they move to their new location, a short ride from Colonial Williamsburg and the Colonial Parkway at 170-A Second Street.

Williamsburg native and owner Wolt Stryker, says he’s always felt that one of the best ways to explore our historic city is by bike. “Making bike rentals available so close to town is a great opportunity for tourists and locals alike. Locals can have a simple and easy family outing or bring their guests to see Williamsburg in a whole new way. We handle the logistics and do the heavy lifting, so adventure seeking families pick out a bike and set off exploring.”

Bike the Burg offers comfort cruisers, both single and multi-speed. They have men’s, women’s, kids bikes and trailers for the little ones. And with tandem and electric bikes, Bike the Burg has something for everyone to see the sights.

A family affair. Daughter of Bike the Burg owner Wolt Stryker, Taylor Stryker, gets a bike ready.

“While we have only been open for about a year, we have been thrilled with the support from the community and from literally all over the world,” said Stryker. “We have had families from as far away as Scotland, the Netherlands and the UK and as close as our own backyard. This has been a great experience for us to meet so many interesting people.”

Free Pick-up and Delivery

Bike the Burg is also introducing a unique service program for locals; free pick-up and delivery in qualifying areas. The Bike the Burg staff will work with customers to pick up, service, and return your bike to your home. “We recognized that many people don’t have vehicles they can throw their bike into and bring to us for serviceTherefore, as a free service, we’ll come to you”, said Stryker.

Bike the Burg is an authorized dealer of several bike lines including Fuji and Del Sol, both established bike lines not currently available in Williamsburg. With a full line of accessories from helmets to bells, Bike the Burg is a full service bike shop.
